DinoVite – Supplements for Dogs (and Cats)

DinoVite Canine Supplement

People aren’t the only ones who may need supplements in their diets. I discovered DinoVite when I was looking up something to help one of our dogs who licks his paws obsessively.  They have a number of different products, and some contain dry yeast.

My dog also loves to lick my hands, and I don’t want a dog who has been consuming gluten and/or wheat to lick me. Inevitably in his (or our other dog’s) excitement, a face lick happens. Hands I can deal with, but not my face, and especially not if they get my lips. Ewww!

So my concern with DinoVite was – what is the source of that yeast? A lot of pet companies use Brewer’s Yeast1, which is not Celiac safe. Brewer’s Yeast can also interact with certain human medications; I don’t know if this is true for canine/feline medications as well.

DinoVite’s helpful response:

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I have confirmed with our inventory specialist that the source of the dry yeast is not from brewers yeast. Our production team also works diligently to alleviate cross contamination between the Dinovite for Dogs and Cats, as we know a lot of our dogs are fighting a chicken allergy. The plant manger confirmed, the production process and sanitation process prevents the Dinovite for Dogs from coming in contact with other ingredients.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

(One of our dogs has a chicken allergy. We haven’t tried DinoVite yet, but I’m glad to know we have this option.)
